Rhinotech RMA 3500R RhinoMite Frame Adhesive Red and 2oz Catalyst - 1 Gallon
Fast-drying two-part red screen frame adhesive engineered for securely bonding screen mesh to frames, providing high tensile strength with excellent impact and solvent resistance.
Characteristics
Rhinotech RMA 3500R RhinoMite Frame Adhesive is a professional two-part screen printing adhesive designed to create a strong, durable bond between screen mesh and screen printing frames.
The RMA 3500R formula provides high tensile strength along with excellent impact and solvent resistance, helping stretched mesh maintain a dependable bond to the frame through demanding screen printing and reclaiming environments.
Its distinctive red color provides excellent visibility during application and makes it easy for operators to see where adhesive has been applied along the perimeter of the screen frame.
RMA 3500R features a relatively low viscosity of 100–300 cPs, allowing the adhesive to penetrate through screen mesh and establish direct contact between the fabric and frame surface. It can be used with a variety of mesh counts, while very fine mesh applications can be further optimized using compatible RMT 3501 thinner.
The adhesive dries quickly, typically within approximately 10–15 minutes depending on temperature, humidity, and adhesive thickness. This fast drying time allows stretched screens to be removed from the stretching equipment relatively quickly while the adhesive continues developing its full cure over approximately 24 hours.
RMA 3500R is catalyzed using Rhinotech RMC-4 Catalyst at approximately 1.5% catalyst by weight. For a one-gallon container, the recommended mixture is approximately 64 grams of catalyst per gallon of adhesive. The included 2 oz. RMC-4 Catalyst provides the catalyst required for the gallon kit.
For best bonding performance on aluminum frames, Rhinotech recommends priming the frame with adhesive and allowing the primer coat to dry before stretching the mesh. Once the fabric is stretched in contact with the frame, adhesive can be applied using a short-nap brush to help force the material through the mesh and onto the frame surface.

- Make sure screen frames are clean, dry, and free from oil, dust, adhesive residue, and other contaminants before bonding.
- For aluminum frames, apply a primer coat of RMA 3500R adhesive and allow it to dry before stretching the mesh.
- Stretch the screen mesh to the desired tension and make sure the fabric remains in direct contact with the frame.
- Thoroughly mix the RMC-4 Catalyst into the RMA 3500R adhesive before application.
- Use approximately 64 grams of RMC-4 Catalyst per gallon of RMA 3500R adhesive.
- The recommended catalyst concentration is approximately 1.5% by weight.
- Mix only the amount of adhesive that can reasonably be used within the catalyzed adhesive's working life.
- Keep catalyzed adhesive in a tightly closed container when it is not being used.
- Apply the adhesive using a short-nap brush to help push the adhesive through the screen mesh and establish contact with the frame.
- Make sure the adhesive penetrates through the mesh rather than remaining only on top of the fabric.
- Allow approximately 10–15 minutes for the adhesive to dry before removing the frame from the stretching equipment.
- Temperature, humidity, and adhesive thickness can affect actual drying time.
- Allow the adhesive to continue curing for approximately 24 hours for maximum bond development.
- For fine mesh applications, RMT 3501 Thinner can be added after the adhesive has been catalyzed to improve penetration through the fabric.
- Rhinotech's user guide recommends approximately 20% compatible thinner when additional thinning is required for fine mesh.
- Always follow the current Rhinotech Safety Data Sheet and User Guide for proper handling, storage, application, and personal protective equipment.
