The Diamond Maxi 38" Manual Squeegee Sharpener is a professional precision sharpening system designed to restore worn screen printing squeegee blades to a clean, straight, and consistent printing edge. Capable of sharpening squeegees up to 38" long, the Maxi is an excellent solution for garment, graphics, container, industrial, and other screen-printing operations that want to maintain their squeegees in-house.
Unlike conventional belt-sanding systems, the Diamond Maxi uses a precision diamond grinding wheel to resurface the polyurethane squeegee blade. Diamond-wheel sharpening provides controlled material removal while helping produce a straight, repeatable printing edge across the entire length of the blade.
The manual sharpening system gives the operator direct control over the sharpening process. The squeegee is securely positioned in the machine while the operator moves the diamond grinding wheel along fixed tracks across the blade. This controlled movement helps maintain consistent contact between the wheel and squeegee throughout the sharpening pass.
The Maxi holds the squeegee by the blade rather than relying solely on the handle. This design allows the sharpener to accommodate a variety of squeegee handle configurations while helping maintain proper blade positioning during resurfacing.
Maintaining a clean and uniform squeegee edge is critical to screen-printing performance. Worn, rounded, nicked, or uneven blades can negatively affect ink deposit, print definition, coverage, and consistency. Regular sharpening allows printers to restore the working edge of the blade rather than replacing otherwise usable polyurethane.
The Diamond Maxi's compact tabletop configuration makes it particularly well suited for shops that want professional squeegee-maintenance capabilities without dedicating significant floor space to a larger automatic sharpening system.
By allowing worn blades to be resurfaced multiple times during their usable life, the Diamond Maxi can help reduce replacement squeegee costs while improving print consistency and providing greater control over routine squeegee maintenance.

- Inspect the squeegee blade before sharpening for cuts, excessive wear, or other damage.
- Make sure the squeegee is securely positioned in the sharpener before beginning.
- Remove only the amount of polyurethane necessary to restore a clean, straight printing edge.
- Make multiple controlled passes rather than attempting excessive material removal in a single pass.
- Maintain smooth, consistent movement of the sharpening wheel across the entire blade.
- Select the appropriate diamond-wheel grit based on the condition of the squeegee and desired finished edge.
- Clean polyurethane residue from the sharpening area after use.
- Inspect the finished blade edge before returning the squeegee to production.
- Avoid unnecessary sharpening, since every sharpening cycle removes a small amount of polyurethane.
- Follow Fimor/Diamond recommendations for wheel inspection, replacement, equipment adjustment, and routine maintenance.
