The Diamond Kutronic 60" Automatic Squeegee Sharpener is a professional precision sharpening system designed to restore screen printing squeegee blades to a clean, consistent printing edge. Built for production screen-printing environments, the machine accommodates squeegees up to 60" (153 cm) long.
Unlike conventional belt-sanding methods, the Kutronic uses precision diamond grinding wheels to remove controlled amounts of polyurethane from the printing edge. Diamond-wheel sharpening provides a consistent cutting surface while helping maintain the geometry of the squeegee blade throughout the sharpening process.
The Kutronic is fully automated, helping eliminate many of the variables associated with manually sharpening long squeegees. Uniform sharpening speed, consistent grinding pressure, and controlled material removal contribute to repeatable results from one blade to the next.
The machine's clamping system is designed to securely hold the squeegee blade during sharpening while maintaining its relationship to the grinding wheel. This is particularly important with longer squeegees, where blade bending or bowing can contribute to an uneven printing edge.
The 60" Kutronic also incorporates adjustable camber capability. This allows the sharpening profile to compensate for potential curvature in longer squeegee assemblies and helps maintain consistent blade contact across the printing surface.
Two straight/square-edge diamond grinding wheels are supplied as standard. The standard wheel selection includes 100-grit and 360-grit diamond wheels, allowing operators to perform both material removal and finer finishing operations.
Recommended material removal is approximately 0.002" to 0.005" (0.05 to 0.10 mm), depending on the diamond-wheel grit and sharpening requirements. Removing controlled amounts of material helps maximize usable squeegee blade life while reducing the frequency and cost of complete blade replacement.

- Make sure the squeegee is securely and correctly positioned in the clamping system before beginning a sharpening cycle.
- Select the appropriate diamond-wheel grit for the amount of material that needs to be removed.
- Use a coarser wheel when greater material removal is necessary and a finer wheel when producing the finished printing edge.
- Remove only the amount of polyurethane necessary to restore the printing edge.
- The recommended material-removal range is approximately 0.002" to 0.005" per sharpening operation, depending on wheel grit and blade condition.
- Inspect the entire printing edge after sharpening to verify that it is straight, clean, and consistent.
