Ultra-lightweight, retensionable aluminum roller frame engineered for high-tension automatic screen printing, delivering exceptional stability, precise registration, improved print definition, and long-term reusable performance.

Characteristics

The Stretch Devices Newman M3-UL Auto Frame 25" x 36" is a professional-grade retensionable screen printing frame designed specifically for demanding automatic textile printing environments. Featuring Newman Roller Frame technology, the M3-UL combines lightweight aluminum construction with the strength required to maintain high mesh tensions during production.

The 25" x 36" outside dimension provides a versatile printing area for automatic textile presses. The frame uses an all-roller, four-roller design with 1-5/8" diameter aluminum rollers, allowing mesh tension to be adjusted and restored without permanently restretching the screen. This retensioning capability helps compensate for normal mesh relaxation and allows printers to maintain more consistent screen tension throughout the life of the mesh.

Newman M3 Series frames are designed for significantly higher tension than the lighter MZX Series. Manufacturer information lists the M3 Series with a maximum tension capacity of up to 85 Newtons and describes the series as approximately 300% stronger than the MZX Series. The additional strength makes the M3 particularly suited for medium- and high-production shops operating multiple automatic presses.

Maintaining higher and more consistent mesh tension can help improve screen stability, registration accuracy, ink deposit consistency, edge definition, and overall production repeatability. Unlike conventional static aluminum frames, the Newman Roller design allows the mesh to be retensioned after printing and reclaiming, helping extend useful mesh life while maintaining production-quality tension.

The M3-UL can be tensioned manually with the appropriate Newman tools or used with compatible Newman Roller Master™ stretching equipment. The Roller Master L3 and L4 systems accommodate M3 frames through the 26" x 36" size range, including this 25" x 36" configuration.

Usage Tips ▼
  • Install screen mesh using the correct Newman locking strips designed for the M3 roller-frame profile.
  • Follow the recommended Newman stretching procedure when installing new mesh.
  • Bring the mesh to the desired working tension gradually rather than immediately applying maximum tension.
  • Verify tension across multiple areas of the screen using a calibrated tension meter.
  • Retension the screen periodically after initial stretching, printing, and reclaiming as the mesh naturally relaxes.
  • Maintaining consistent mesh tension can help improve registration, ink transfer, print definition, and production repeatability.
  • For higher tension levels, follow Stretch Devices' procedures for roller deflection and reverse curve compensation.
  • Reverse curve techniques may be used when appropriate to help compensate for roller deflection and achieve more uniform screen tension.
  • Use the appropriate Newman M3 wrench or compatible Newman Roller Master™ equipment when making tension adjustments.
  • Roller Master L3 and L4 systems accommodate this 25" x 36" M3 frame configuration.
  • Do not exceed the recommended working tension for the specific mesh count and thread diameter being used, even though the M3 frame itself supports very high tension levels.
