The Viper MAXX PreTreatment Machine is a professional production-oriented pretreatment system engineered to provide precise, consistent, and repeatable pretreatment application for Direct-to-Garment printing.

Designed for DTG shops that require greater control over the pretreatment process, the MAXX allows operators to customize virtually every important spray parameter. Instead of pretreating the entire garment when only a smaller print area is required, operators can define exactly where pretreatment should be applied. This is particularly useful for left-chest designs, smaller graphics, and other applications where full-width pretreatment would unnecessarily consume solution.

The MAXX features an adjustable spray area up to approximately 19" x 24", providing enough coverage for large DTG graphics while allowing the spray area to be reduced for smaller designs. Precise spray placement helps minimize wasted pretreatment and keeps excess solution from being sprayed beyond the intended garment area.

At the center of the MAXX is an easy-to-use touchscreen control system. Operators can control spray parameters and quickly recall settings for commonly produced garments and print locations. The system provides 30 user-defined spray-pattern presets along with 4 user-defined fluid-application presets, making it easier to standardize pretreatment procedures between jobs and operators.

A single-nozzle spray system provides controlled application across the selected area. Spray-head speed, movement between spray passes, and other parameters can be adjusted to optimize application for different pretreatment formulas, garments, spray tips, and production requirements. Compatible spray tips can also be used and the MAXX settings adjusted to achieve the desired spray pattern.

Viper reports pretreatment application efficiency of approximately 99%+, helping dramatically reduce overspray and wasted pretreatment compared with uncontrolled manual spraying. Precise application can also help maintain a cleaner DTG production environment while reducing unnecessary chemical consumption.

For production environments, the Viper MAXX is capable of pretreating approximately 90–135 shirts per hour, depending on garment, spray settings, workflow, and operator procedures. This makes the machine well suited for commercial DTG shops processing hundreds of garments during a production day.

The MAXX also includes barcode-reading capability. Barcode-based workflows can be configured to recall customized pretreatment areas and application amounts for different shirt styles or production orders. An included unique platen provides easy sleeve-style garment loading without requiring operators to repeatedly open and close a drawer. The open-platform design makes loading and unloading garments fast and straightforward, supporting efficient production workflows.

The machine also incorporates a user-defined automatic cleaning routine designed to help keep the spray nozzle wet and open. Regular cleaning and flushing remain important for reliable operation because dried pretreatment can accumulate within spray components. Viper recommends flushing the system daily with water, preferably hot tap water when appropriate, or distilled water where water quality is poor.

For determining the correct amount of pretreatment for a particular garment, the Viper MAXX also supports a DTG Step Test procedure. The test can apply multiple zones of progressively different pretreatment amounts onto one garment. After curing and printing the test garment, operators can evaluate the results to determine an appropriate pretreatment application level without sacrificing multiple shirts during testing.
